Lakeland Ltd

I was at Lakeland Ltd's late Christmas Party last night. It was held at The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal with a theme of all things Irish. The whole room was decorated in green and white and the entertainment included an Irish dance team and an Irish band. I was working around the tables during dinner and a little unusually, I was asked to perform Mind Reading instead of Close Up Magic. Judging by the reactions I was getting, everyone was having a great time. Thanks Lakeland, I look forward to seeing you again.

Wedding at The Roundthorn

After my show at The Roundthorn Country House at Penrith on New Years eve, I was asked to perform for Simon and Rebecca's wedding there. What a great crowd of friends they have, very enthusiastic and eager to see more magic. Look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Ripley School Party

I was at Marco's Restaurant on Thursday, I had been booked by Ripley School staff for a leaving party. The evening was going great with everyone enjoying the entertainment until one of the waiters tried to get in the act. Despite being told this was a leaving party, he insisted on everyone standing up to sing happy birthday and demanding to dance Agadoo with anyone within reach. Quite a surreal evening really!

Christmas and New Year Parties

Whew! I've just finished a busy week of parties. I have been fortunate enough to be booked for some wonderful places over Christmas and new year. On the 24th and the 30th, I was at the recently refurbished Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside, what a superb place it is to stay. Everyone I spoke to said how wonderful the food was.

On the 31st I was at The Roundthorn Country House in Penrith. Its a spectacular place, perched on a hill above the town. Everyone was greeted by a traditional piper at the door and welcomed with pink champagne.

New years day I traveled to The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal where the guests were having afternoon tea. It is the second time I have been asked to perform there, I hope it isn't the last as I really enjoy the atmosphere. Guests couldn't help but mention how friendly and helpful all the staff are.

On the evening of the 1st I traveled further north to The Langdale Hotel & Country Club near Ambleside. I have never been there before and was surprised at how big the estate was. As well as the hotel, there were lots of log cabins to stay in. I was working in a very stylish dining room with lots of enthusiastic guests.
